Hey friends,
On Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, I’ll be playing three short sets as part of Porchfest LA.
Porchfest is a free, volunteer-run neighborhood festival that turns porches, patios, and yards across Los Feliz, East Hollywood, and Silver Lake into little performance spaces for the weekend. It is a pretty lovely idea: walk around, hear something unexpected, meet your neighbors, and follow the music. This is Porchfest’s third year, with music, comedy, spoken word, and all kinds of other things happening from 12 to 5 PM both days. You can find the full map and schedule at Porchfest LA.

Here is where I’ll be:
Saturday, October 17, 12:30 PM
Terence McNally’s porch
527 N. Westmoreland Ave.
Silver Lake
Saturday, October 17, 4:00 PM
Harper’s porch
1759 N. Kenmore Ave.
Los Feliz
Sunday, October 18, 4:00 PM
Larysa Bulbenko’s porch
4428 Prospect Ave.
Los Feliz
A small note so nobody feels like they need to follow me around all weekend: I’m planning to play essentially the same set at each stop. Pick the porch and time that works best for you, or use it as an excuse to wander through the festival and catch other artists along the way.
I’m looking forward to this one. I spend a lot of time playing in coffee shops, bars, and listening rooms, and there is something refreshing about taking a guitar into somebody’s front yard and seeing who stops to listen.
See you there,
-Pete
